Today every industry that has made it big seems to head into educating masses to follow their lead. While for some it's about adding another feather in the cap, others treat it as money making spin off. After auctioning for a week's internship with Vogue, luxury brands are looking at providing more long term training options to young students. After Harrods, who already have launched an under-graduates degree course via the Anglia Ruskin University, it's the turn for luxury brand Gucci to tread the path. This autumn, the luxury giants will launch a master's degree in luxury retail management at the International University of Monaco.
Open to 35 students at once, the syllabus which has been developed with help from brands like Gucci and Ralph Lauren would include running boutiques and sales teams for high-end luxury items like shoes, jewelry, watches, cars and yachts. And the degree also comes with a "seven-month immersion internship" in a luxury boutique.

In a market dominated by Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada and the like, another luxury brand, Coach seems to be making its name. A leading U.S. retailer of luxury lifestyle handbags, Coach is all set to eliminate its rivals with unique and exquisite offerings. However if you thought Coach will wash out its competition by sticking to what it sells best, handbags, you are definitely wrong. Coach aims at acquiring a greater share in the accessories market through sales of accessories like belts, wallets and wristlets. Most importantly, Coach hopes to cash in on the growing men’s luxury market. Over the next few years Coach plans to achieve a market share of 14% in the men’s luxury market. To achieve this target, Coach has plans of opening all men’s stores in the near future as well as increase the offerings of accessories.
